Is there a minimum age for participation in Hertz Gold Plus Rewards?

Minimum age to join Hertz Gold Plus Rewards is 21 and age differential charges may apply.

Will I be charged for Gold service after a year?

No. There is no fee for a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards membership.

Members can print their membership card anytime on hertz.com for U.S. members (hertz.ca for Canada members). Click on "My Account" and select "Print Membership Card."

How Do I Redeem My Points for Free Rental Days?

Now there’s a faster, easier way to redeem your points for Hertz car rentals. You get to choose the reward that’s right for you! A one-day advanced reservation is required for rentals in North America. To redeem points and reserve a car online, log on to hertz.com and make your reservation. Remember to check the yellow box that reads, "Use my Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Points". If your itinerary qualifies for a Reward, you'll see your options on the "Review and Book" page. To help you along the way, please view these instructions.

Do I need an advanced reservation to redeem my points?

Yes, a one-day advanced reservation is required for rental redemptions in North America. We do not allow redemptions on walk-ups.

How can I redeem my Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Points for Frequent Traveler Points?

You can redeem your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Points for Frequent Traveler Points online by following these four quick steps:

  1. Log in at hertz.com
  2. At the top navigation bar, click on "My Account," from there select "Use My Points."
  3. Select the "Exchange My Points" tab.
  4. Complete the form and hit "Submit."

*You cannot redeem another member's Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Points towards your personal Frequent Traveler account.

Where can I earn and redeem points?

Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points can be earned and redeemed at participating locations in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas USVI, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Portugal, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. Rentals in Switzerland will earn points, but members can’t redeem a reward there.

Can I Transfer Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Points?

Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Points can be transferred to a spouse or domestic partner, as long as he/she is a Gold member who permanently resides at the same address as the primary renter. However, you cannot transfer Gold Plus Reward Points for redemption towards an airline/hotel/Amtrak account that is in someone else’s name (including, but not limited to, a spouse or domestic partner). There is no limit to the number of times points are transferred to a spouse or domestic partner or the amount of points being transferred as long as the points are available in the member’s account. Call the Rewards Desk at 1-888-999-4900 during the hours of 0700-2100 CST Monday through Friday, and ask for a transfer of points.

Will my points be returned if I cancel my reservation?

If you made a reservation using your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points but need to cancel it, your points will be returned as long as you cancel your reservation 24 hours before you were to pick up your vehicle.

How can I earn Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points?

You must be a member of Hertz Gold Plus Rewards in order to earn points and only members with an address in the following countries may participate:

How can I earn points on all my rentals?

To earn Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points automatically on all of your qualified rentals first, you should update your member profile

  1. Log in at hertz.com
  2. At the top navigation bar, click on "My account," and then "My Profile."
  3. Click Edit under Membership Details. Then check the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards box and click update.

If reserving by phone, please let the Hertz Representative know you would like to start earning Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Points.

Where can I earn and redeem points?

Can I earn Frequent Flyer credit with my Hertz Rental?

Earning Frequent Flyer credits vary by carrier. If Hertz is a partner in the frequent flyer program of the carrier you are flying, qualified rentals can earn program credits. Please review your program's policies in our partnership section located in the bottom half of the Hertz.com homepage. The Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® program lets you earn points on each qualifying Hertz rental, for business or leisure. You can earn one Gold Plus Rewards Point for each qualifying dollar spent. And you can use your Awards Points the way you want!

ZE1 code was not mentioned on the reservation. Can I still get my Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Points for that rental?

Yes, as long as you request your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Points within six months of the rental return and was a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards member at the time the rental occured.

To request retro credit for Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points you must first log in to your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards account on the Hertz.com home page. Then click on the "My Account” link in the upper right hand corner, followed by “Use My Points”. Click the “Missing Points Request” tab and complete the online form.

How can I get my Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Points balance?

Log in to your account on hertz.com and your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Points Balance will be displayed to the right of the Use My Gold Plus Points link in “My Account”. For more detail click the "Rewards Account Activity” link to view your online statement.

Yes, provided your qualifying rental included the correct Promotion Code and/or CDP number and the rental was in the past six months and qualified for the promotion. For Hertz Gold Plus Rewards credit you must first log in to your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards account on the Hertz.com home page. Then click on "My Account” link in the upper right hand corner, followed by “Use My Points”. Click the “Missing Points Request” tab and complete the online form. You can request a retro credit for your Gold Plus Rewards Points within six months of the rental return and only for those rentals completed as a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards.

How will I know if I’ve received my Hertz Gold Plus Rewards bonus points on a recent rental?

AnyDay Reward vs. Standard Reward

What is the difference between AnyDay Rewards and Standard Rewards?

AnyDay Rewards are not subject to any blackout periods and may be used during the most busy travel periods, which usually occur around certain holidays, major local events, and the very highest seasonal demand periods at specific locations. Standard Rewards are available during all but the most busy travel periods and require less points to redeem than AnyDay Rewards.

To see the list of dates and cities that require AnyDay Rewards redemptions, please log into Hertz.com and click on “My Account” in the top navigation bar, followed by “Use My Points”. If you click on the “Use My Points” link you will see a tab for “Terms and Conditions”. The “Terms and Conditions” page list the AnyDay Rewards periods by country. Select the country to view the list of cities and dates that require the use of an AnyDay Reward.

Transferring Points

Can I Transfer Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Points?

Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Points can be transferred to a spouse or domestic partner, as long as he/she is a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Member who permanently resides at the same address as the primary car renter. However, you cannot transfer Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Points for redemption towards an airline, hotel, or Amtrak account that is in someone else's name (including, but not limited to, a spouse or domestic partner.)

What if my spouse or domestic partner is not a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards member?

The spouse/domestic partner should sign up for a fee-waived Gold membership via hertz.com. Once completed, you must wait 48 hours before calling the Awards Desk to transfer points. Transferring of points cannot be done without waiting the 48 hours.

Can My Spouse or Domestic Partner Join Hertz Gold Plus Rewards for Free?

Yes, your spouse/domestic partner should sign up for a fee-waived Gold membership via hertz.com. Once completed, you must wait 48 hours before calling the Awards Desk to transfer points. Transferring of points cannot be done without waiting the 48 hours.

When will the points show up in the spouse/domestic partner’s account?

If both memberships are at least 72 hours old, the transferred points are viewable on Hertz.com within 24 hours of transfer. However, a Sales Specialist is able to see the transfer of points that same day and will be able to apply the points to a future reservation. The Awards Desk will transfer you to the Sales area to book the reservation.

How can I view my Account Statements?

  1. Log in at hertz.com
  2. At the top navigation, select “My Account”, followed by “Rewards Account Activity”
  3. Here you will find your Gold Plus Rewards points activity for the current month, plus the previous 24 months of points activity or from your original join date.
